Where possible, we tied up our cables and created service loops for future service if required.

The original rack was removed and replaced by the newer one, the law equipment was moved down to the other rack keeping all connections in tact except one patch cable that was going from the law switch to the other main switch. It didn’t make sense to keep that, so we removed it.
Before
After
Unnecessary cables were removed from this bundle going down to the floor. We had to trace out the rogers lines, label and loop them and attached to the wall as the original bundle was on the floor.
Before
After
We remove almost 100lbs of dead and old cable in the pathways we worked. There is still some cable in the ceiling areas but they were not accessible due to hvac/electrician work or were not in our direct pathways to remove however a significant amount was removed clearing up opportunity for future additional if necessary.

All of our jacks are black with the 2DXX label. We removed and covered most dead jacks with blanks so as not to confuse users with the new jacks vs. old. There are some surface mount phone jacks still in place as we were not sure if they were dead or not.
